Music for your little one ages birth-preK
For families, daycares & schools in the Des Moines metro
ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Amanda Meyer, the owner and one of the teachers for Music Class for Tots. I graduated from Iowa State University in 2008 with my bachelor's degree in music education. I've spent the last 13 years teaching music to young children in public schools (K-5 general music and 5th grade chorus), daycare centers, in-home daycares and public libraries in the Des Moines metro. I've completed levels 1 & 2 of my Kodaly Music Pedagogical training and I've also received training in John Feierabend's curriculum, "First Steps in Music," which I incorporate into my teaching. When not teaching music I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I reside in Norwalk with our four children and corgi.
ABOUT CLASS
My classes are geared towards children ages birth through preschool. My goal is to provide every child with a well rounded music education. I aim to build and grow a love for music and to also begin a strong foundation of musical knowledge that will carry on through their years. Your children will be exposed to quality music literature including: folksongs, nursery rhymes, classical music, traditional songs and games and finger rhymes. They will learn to use their singing voice in a proper way and explore a variety of instruments. We perform a lot of different movement activities and work together with the parachute. My guitar, ukulele and pan drum always take turns making appearances at my classes too!
